Career in Russia

Johann Beitner joined the Noble Infantry Cadet Corps in 1736. He was engaged as master of writing and had to teach German and Latin writing. Furthermore, he instructed the Russian cadets to “read and calculate”. He also taught arithmetic. Beitner received a contract with an annual salary of 100 roubles for the first year. Since he is not mentioned in the staff register of 1737, it is to be presumed that he stayed in the Corps for one year only.
